Belinda Vierthaler, LMSW, LACHA

Belinda is a Licensed Master Social Worker and licensed Administrator. She has worked as an Administrator in skilled nursing and assisted living communities and served as the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman under the administrations of Governor Parkinson and Governor Brownback. She developed the Administrator-In-Training program and taught the assisted living operators course at Johnson County Community College. Currently, she is the Director of GERTI and Devlopment, the education branch of Evergreen Living Innovations, Inc.

About this course

The protection and promotion of resident rights is a very important duty for staff in adult care homes.  Each resident must have the right to a dignified existence, self-determination, and communication with and access to persons and services inside and outside the adult care home.  This course will analyze in depth rights of residents that live in adult care homes.

  • Identify resident rights
  • Describe the ways not upholding the resident rights impacts the residents.
  • Ways to enhance resident rights.
