About this course
Working with people with dementia is rewarding and challenging. This course is designed to teach caregivers how to create an environment where people with dementia and the people working with them can thrive. CMS is now requiring that skilled nursing communities analyze behavior health care, which includes dementia. This course presents ways in which caregivers can promote a dementia-friendly environment by looking at the whole person. The course also briefly discusses mental health and long-term care residents. Individualizing care for people with dementia, with an emphasis on non-pharmacological interventions will be defined.
